The 10-Minute End-of-Day Discipline That Saves a Firm Hours
A short evening routine that closes the loop on the day's work and prepares tomorrow.
The most reliable productivity tool isn't the calendar — it's the 10-minute end-of-day routine that turns chaos into a clean tomorrow.
The four-step routine
- Mark all today's hearings as Heard / Adjourned / Disposed
- For each adjourned matter, capture the new date and reason
- Write one-line notes for each significant moment
- Skim tomorrow's cause list, flag anything that needs early attention
It takes 10 minutes — sometimes less. It eliminates the morning panic of trying to reconstruct what happened yesterday. And after 30 days of doing it, the firm's audit trail becomes self-maintaining.
