What We Learned From Our First 100 Tenant Chambers
Patterns, surprises, and recommendations from our first year of running AssociatesDiary at scale.
Reaching 100 tenant chambers gave us our first real dataset. The patterns aren't always what we expected.
What surprised us
- Mobile usage is dominant — 73% of partner sessions originate on phones, despite the calendar being designed desktop-first
- Saturday mornings are peak — partners reviewing the week ahead before family time
- Client portal adoption correlates with chamber size much less than expected — small firms adopt it as eagerly as large ones
What we expected and confirmed
- Cause list time savings are the most-cited benefit
- Adjournment audit trails save embarrassment more often than they save lawsuits
- Partners under 40 adopt faster than partners over 60, but the gap is shrinking
What we're going to fix because of the data
- Mobile-first calendar redesign — already in beta
- Smarter Saturday-morning daily digest emails — shipping next month
- Client portal default-on for chambers smaller than 5 lawyers — already shipping
